Some Recent Beauty Buys

Hello lovelies,

Sorry for not posting in such a long time. Getting back to school took a bit to adjust. I'm just posting some of my recent beauty buys and sharing my thoughts on them.

Clinique Exfoliating Scrub Super-Exfoliante Just bought the "super-exfoliante" version of this scrub (I couldn't find the picture on sephora.com)... and I like it. It's a lot gentler than other popular scrubs, such as St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I like how it also has menthol in it, making my face feel extra refreshed. I think I've noticed a slight difference in the size of my pores and my blackheads, which is the main reason I bought this scrub. I've only used it twice so far, I will post another update after a week or two :)

Makeup from The Body Shop! 3 for $10--I'm beginning to amass a makeup collection, how could I not resist? Pictured here are: Pink Glow Enhancer in Pink 02, Cheek Bloom in Desert Rose 01, and Duo Shadow in Eucalyptus Grey 02.

These products are all decent--my favorite would have to be the Cheek Bloom, the pigmentation of it is just amazing. I'm always on the hunt for super pigmented blush. If I want a lighter look, I'll just lightly dab a brush in it, but if I'm feeling for rosy cheeks, a normal swipe would do it too. The eyeshadow duo is okay--pigmentation decent, not anything great. I was confused on what the Pink Glow Enhancer did at first, but now I use it more as a blush primer. So after I moisturize and apply a light layer of foundation to my face, I'll take a small amount (or else it gets too shimmery) and rub it on the apples of my cheeks. It really makes a difference and I love that it makes my blush just pop.

The top swatch is a swipe of blush using my finger OVER the pink glow enhancer and the second swatch (apologies, it is barely visible) is just the blush with one swipe of my finger. Again, it just helps diversify looks.

I also picked up Urban Decay's Primer Potion--simply amazing. Here I used the darker shade of my eyeshadow duo to prove why.

The top is the darker eyeshadow applied with an eyeshadow brush and the bottom is the same thing, just with UDPP on the bottom. It makes such a huge difference! It helps my shadow last all day :) I don't wear eyeshadow daily, but for the days that I do and for nights out, UDPP will be SO handy.

That's all I have for now (too lazy to post the rest), but expect more updates soon :)

Recent Buys/Gifts

I hope everyone had an excellent holiday and got some excellent things. I'm glad to say that Christmas this year was good to me, so I'll share some of what I received.

Silence & Noise Hooded Bomber Jacket was an amazing buy--the material is so soft and the fit is incredible. I love how there's an extra hood, always a plus in my opinion. Glad I got it before it got all backordered out of my size! But if any of you readers are interested, all the sizes are available in brown.

BDG Double Breasted Wool Bomber has quickly become one of my favorite jackets--not only is it the fit amazing, but it is the warmest jacket that I have. It's incredibly comfortable and brown is one of my favorite colors to wear.

Cable Stitch Beret is finally mine! I've been meaning to get this hat for awhile, but kept forgetting :) A very lovely friend gifted me this hat for Christmas. The color is one of my favorites (taupe) and so versatile--it goes with everything I own. The stitching is adorable and it keeps me warm at the same time--such a keeper. I'm tempted to pick up another one in white.

Deux Lux Filigree Shoulder Bag has just been another one of my favorite buys. It has yet to arrive (ordered it last week!) but I have been DYING to have a leather bag that functions as a bag you can hold or one you can drape over your shoulder. I'm so excited about this purchase and I cannot wait until it arrives.

Shaping Boyshort (in Nude) from Victoria's Secret is another should've-bought-earlier item. These nude booty shorts will be worn each time I wear a dress to avoid possible wardrobe malfunctions--yes, I have been close. Can't wait to get these either.

Sex and the City: Extended Cut! I really loved the movie and so glad that I got the extended cut! It just sucks that the extended cut is about 5 minutes, which is basically nothing. I would've liked more, but I love this movie.

Note: Sorry about the excess of Urban Outfitters purchases. I don't have a UO where I go to school so each time I come home, I find that I must indulge myself :) It's been awhile since I've managed to shop at UO and these are MOST of my UO purchases.

Miss Dior Chérie by Sofia Coppola

I love the direction of this commercial. The beautiful and playful shots of Paris are complimented by Brigitte Bardot's "Moi Je Joue." She needs to direct another movie asap, it has been too long since Marie Antoinette.

Christmas Wishlist

Christmas is here once again! Although I am quite broke from buying my loved ones their gifts, a girl can dream of what she might be getting...

Silence & Noise Bowtie Dress would be perfect for any ocassion, whether it be for a New Years Eve party or just a way to add a pop of color on any regulary day at school.

Urban Outfitters Cable Stitch Beret (in Taupe) because even California gets rather cold during the wintertime...

UGG Dakota Slippers is another cute way to stay warm in the wintertime.

3.1 Phillip Lim Prep School Dress
is amazing-love the classic cut of it along with the pleated skirt and funky belt. The exposed zipper in the back is the best and has been one of my favorite trends of this year.

A Chanel medium flap bag would make an excellent addition to my wardrobe, hint hint.
